SkyPort Wins Significant Contract from Major U.S. Government Prime Contractor

  • Jan. 15, 2008 – HOUSTON, TEXAS – SkyPort Global Communications, a leading provider of satellite communications solutions, has been awarded a $1 million plus contract by a major U.S. government prime contractor to provide communications support to the U.S. government’s global war on terror.

SkyPort has been chosen to supply satellite communications and teleport services under the one-year contract with extension options.  Because of the sensitivity of the critical mission, SkyPort officials said the contractor’s name could not be disclosed.

SkyPort operates from a highly-secure teleport and global network operating center on  the Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, supplying award-winning service and support to discerning customers who need reliable, satellite-based, end-to-end communications solutions.

“This contract award demonstrates SkyPort’s commitment to providing high-end, extremely reliable satellite solutions to the U.S. military, government and National Guard,” said Patrick K. Brant, president and CEO of SkyPort. “This contract award is the direct result of the recent improvements made within SkyPort’s sales organization.  We expect to see more contracts like this one during the coming months, and we believe that 2008 will be a banner year for SkyPort.”
