SkyPort Provides Update on Haiti Crises
-
January 21, 2010 – HOUSTON, TEXAS – SkyPort continues to provide mission critical satellite communication services to key organizations involved in saving Haitian lives. We are honored to have the opportunity to support the Haitian First Responders’ mission.
SkyPort was also able to immediately assist the Air Force RADC deploy X-Band communication man-packs as an interim measure, until the Air Force was able to establish more permanent network capabilities. SkyPort’s unique location and rapid response capabilities were key factors in establishing early-on X-Band communications capabilities for RADC.
The Satellite Communications Industry has pulled together in a very meaningful way to assist all of those requiring support. A number of satellite operators have either offered their satellite capacity for free or deeply discounted prices in support of the emergency response groups. SkyPort and other full service organizations have used every opportunity to get these services to the field as quickly as possible for as little cost as possible.
Any groups requiring access to satellite communications in support of the Haiti crises can contact our round the clock operations center at 1.888.238.4367For further information contact:
